Interview Experience

I have a lot of experience with interviews throughout my life; here are a few short examples:

During middle school, I had an interview competition through 4-H, and actually did very well. We were asked many questions throughout the interview and we supposed to present ourselves in the best manner we could. Well I prepared very well and ended up taking 1st and moving on to regional’s. I took 3rd place in regionals and became very confident with my public speaking and presenting myself in a one on one manner.

My second interview experience I want to explain is when I was applying to my job at Best Buy. Coming straight out of high school, I had no experience on paper. I thought this was a big concern applying to a department like geek squad. During my interview, I explained the leadership skills I had developed during sports in high school, explained the type of technical experience I had and what type of issues I was familiar with. All three managers that interviewed me were blown out of the water and I was hired without question. I now work 35 hours a week at a good paying job that I enjoy.

So basically what I would recommend to anyone is to be confident during your interviews and you will do well. You may want to prepare yourself and run through situations in your head, but an interview is mainly mental. I am not saying I am perfect at interviews, but I did a lot of things right by just being myself and explaining what I am good at.
