Chapter 5 Audience Relationship

After reading chapter 5, I felt the most important topic was the audience speaker connection. In my opinion, if your audience doesn’t feel some type of connection with your speech, they will feel that you are making a pointless speech. I especially like the question that was asked, “How does this apply to me and my experiences?” If you can relate your speech to everyone and answer this question, then your speech was successful. As I mentioned in my other post, the audience has to be the most important thing that a speaker thinks about when preparing a speech because you are trying to either motivate or inform the audience in some way. Without their attention, you are simply wasting your time!!!
